ICSE Vs CBSE Which Board Is Best For Your Child

Which school should I admit my child to ? which Board should  I choose? CBSE or ICSE or any State Department? Will it help them prepare for competitive exams such as JEE or AIPMT in the future? Every parent faces the same dilemma in enrollment. In India, mainly at the national level, there are two important committees to meet the educational needs of the academic field: CBSE (Central Committee for Secondary Education) and ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education). Except for these two committees, most states have their own state boards.

About CBSE

The CBSE or Central Committee of Secondary Education is a committee responsible for promoting education in public and private schools led by the union government of India. At the same time, the schools associated with CBSE also include all Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and private schools. Currently, CBSE level 10 and 12 final exams are usually taken in March of each year. The main goal of the CBSE board of directors is to fully develop the child's character and intelligence. CBSE education also laid the foundation for children's cultural growth.

 About ICSE

The Indian School Credentials Examination Committee (CISCE) was established in 1958. It is the national private education committee in India and is usually responsible for the 10th and 12th level examinations. In addition, if you go back to 1952, it held an All India Certificate Examination Conference, and the main agenda for discussion was the idea of replacing the Overseas Cambridge School Certificate Exam with the All India Examination. The main task of the council is to serve Indian children by providing them with a good quality of education.

The advantages and disadvantages of CBSE

Advantages

  1. Most competitive exams like JEE Main and NEET are based on the syllabus of the CBSE board.

  2. Compared with ICSE, the syllabus of the CBSE board of directors is much easier. Because the syllabus includes a more compact structure and fewer topics. Secondary school subjects are not mandatory. Subjects such as physics, chemistry, and biology are classified as "science and history", and geography and civics are classified as "social science".

  3. There are more CBSE schools nationwide. Therefore, if your parents must move from one city to another, then CBSE is the right choice for you.

  4. The CBSE syllabus pays more attention to subjects such as science and mathematics.

Disadvantages

  1. Even if there are practical subjects, the focus is not on practical knowledge. Compared with other board, core English is not the main focus of this board.

  2. In CBSE, all topics are only dealt with in a theory-based manner, and the emphasis on realistic concepts is relatively small.

The advantages and disadvantages of ICSE

Advantages

  1. The ICSE Council followed a more comprehensive and complete syllabus, covering all equally important topics.

  2. Those students who want to pursue careers in management and humanities will find ICSE  more interesting and valuable.

  3. Compared with the CBSE certificate, the ICSE certificate is recognized and followed worldwide, especially in foreign schools and universities.

  4. Due to the higher emphasis on English, students have an advantage in tests such as TOEFL.

  5. Students will gain greater flexibility when choosing specific subjects.

Disadvantages

  1. Students may feel that these subjects are broader in scope and may become burden for some.

  2. Although the syllabus is very extensive, it is very helpful for future education. However, for the   ISC exam, the inspection is more rigorous, so it will affect the score.
